MARQUEE Carlton recruit Dale Thomas has been selected to makehis club debut against Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium on Sunday, andfirst-round draft pick Patrick Cripps has been named to make his debut, albeit on an extended bench.

Port Adelaide has selected key forward Jay Schulz at full forward, while upgraded rookie Brent Renouf, Jarman Impey and Matt White are named on the extended interchange.

Gold Coast has named three debutantsfor its match with Richmond at Metricon Stadium. The exciting JackMartin heads the list, with Clay Cameron and Sean Lemmens also picked.

The hype surrounding Martin has been well documented, with the19-year-old prodigy following a similar path to last year's NAB AFLRising Star winner Jaeger O'Meara.

Cameron, a developing key position defender (pick No. 58 in the 2012NAB AFL Draft) and Lemmens, a running half-back flanker (No. 27 in the2013 draft) cashed in on some strong pre-season form to break their wayinto the Suns' starting 22.

The Sydney Swans will unleash star recruit Lance Franklin against Greater Western Sydney on Saturday, but the club has left veteran Ryan O'Keefe out of the side.

Franklin is set to play his first home and away game for the Swans since transferring from Hawthorn in a $10 million deal over nine years at the end of last season.

In a pointer to the Swans' increasing depth, former Blue Jeremy Laidler has been named in the back pocket while Lewis Roberts-Thomson, Rhyce Shaw, Sam Reid and Lewis Jetta are also back after injury-riddled 2013 seasons.

The Giants have decided not to expose top two draft picks Tom Boyd and Josh Kelly to the big time just yet, while former Swan Jed Lamb has been named as an emergency.

Ex-Swan Shane Mumford has been named to take on his old side, alongside fellow experienced recruits Heath Shaw (Collingwood), Josh Hunt (Geelong) and Dylan Addison (Western Bulldogs).

Collingwood has named a number of new faces for its clash with Fremantle on Friday night, including youngsters Tom Langdon and Taylor Adams.

Former Greater Western Sydney midfielder Adams has been named to make his Magpies debut, while Langdon (pick No. 65 in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft) is a medium defender who performed solidly in some stopping jobs during the NAB Challenge.

The Magpies have opted to go with upgraded rookie Jack Frost over the incumbent Lachlan Keeffe in defence, while youngster Jarrod Witts has been given the nod as a key forward ahead of veterans Ben Hudson and Quinten Lynch.

Alan Toovey will also play his first game since rupturing his ACL in April last year.

Former Demon Colin Sylvia has been named as an emergency for the Dockers, alongside the out of favour Clancee Pearce.

Richmond has selected Shaun Hampson, Matt Thomas and Matt McDonough, who played one match last season, for its clash with Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium on Saturday.
