THERE is only one bye round left to contend with and a lot of players look ripe for the picking.

Last round threw us a few curve balls, and if you were like me and had a team that looked like a bout of gastro had blown through it, don’t blame Tom Rockliff or Dayne Zorko for bringing the bug to your squad.

Just recover, regroup and move forward!

Fantasy round nine review

ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK
Luke Dunstan [MID, $361,229]
has been a great selection and is a champion in the making but with his bye round this week and the fact he is starting to leak cash, it is time to part ways and use him as part of a traditional downgrade/upgrade trade to bring a premium player into your team.

He has made a handy $144,000 for the 29,948 coaches that still own him, but after dropping almost $3,000 following a 72-point effort last week, it would appear he has maxed out in price, especially considering he has not reached his round 11 break-even of 74 since round three.

DANGER, DANGER
Almost half of all coaches do not have Patrick Dangerfield [FWD, $531,693] in their team at the moment and boy, oh boy, have they been missing out. Danger is in red hot form at the moment and looks to be the perfect upgrade target in the forward line.

After a slow start to the year by his standards, Dangerfield has really put his foot on the gas in the last month with four scores over 100 including 135 and 149.

The bonus for coaches looking to bring him in is that he is still $3,000 below his season starting price, but with a break-even of just 74, he is unlikely to be this cheap again all year!

WHO WOULD? SELWOOD?
Joel Selwood [MID, $501,264]
is a superstar of the AFL Fantasy world, and it is not often a player of his calibre is available for such a low price.

Prior to this season, Joel averaged over 100 for five years straight and in 2013 he scored over 120 on ten occasions, putting him in the truly elite bracket.

After a great start to this season with four straight 100s, including 132 and 125, Selwood had a rare form slump, turning in scores of 58, 73 and 82 which caused his price to plummet to $75,000 less than his original asking price.

On the weekend, he looked to have returned to his best with a season-high 138 against Fremantle which takes his break-even down to a very achievable 95.

With Steve Johnson suspended this week, Selwood may face extra attention from the Kangaroos, but he should be high on your radar over the next two weeks before his price skyrockets.

WANTED: GOOD HOME FOR VALUE BULLDOG
Ryan Griffen [MID, $415,186]
is an absolute steal this week and must be considered.

It is important that we remember what Griffen did in 2013 to realise how under-priced he is, after a slow start in 2014 due to injury.

Last year Griffen took his game to the next level with a career-high average of 106 points per game, and nine scores over 120 including a thumping 166.

Last week, Griffen turned in his best game from seven starts with his first ton for the year, recording 113, assisted by an impressive 15 tackles. This week he is carrying a break-even of just 60 into the game against the Suns, making his value hard to ignore.

ROOKIE WATCH
Son of former Cat captain Andrew Bews, Jed Bews [DEF, $134,742] enjoyed a $19,000 price rise after an impressive debut of 84 where he collected 15 possessions against Fremantle, taking eight marks and laying five tackles.

He is highly regarded internally and slotted into the Cats' line-up beautifully, doing his job security no harm. He has break-even of -20 leading into his game against North Melbourne this week, so don’t expect him to stay at this price for long.

Charlie Cameron [FWD, $125,430] made an impressive debut for the Crows, showing outstanding pressure skills which should ensure a prolonged spot in the Crows' 22.

He only amassed 13 possessions, but laid five tackles and kicked a goal for his Fantasy score of 62. He increased in price by $10,000 this week, but expect a greater jump after this weekend’s game against Carlton as he has a break-even of -5.

WHAT ARE THE TRADERS DOING THIS WEEK?

Warnie
In: Charlie Cameron, Ryan Griffen
Out: Nick Robertson, Jackson Merrett

Warnie has had enough of Merrett and Robertson and will be offloading them due to their form and respective byes. After a solid debut, Cameron comes into the forward line and the fallen premium that is Griffen comes into the midfield after scoring his first ton of the season against Melbourne a week ago.

Calvin
In: Patrick Dangerfield, Jed Bews
Out: Rhys Shaw, Jackson Merrett

Calvin is taking the opportunity to bring in one of the form players of the competition Patrick Dangerfield.

Roy
In: Jed Bews, Ryan Griffen ((Via Shaun Higgins DPP)
Out: Jackson Merrett, Nick Robertson

I am finally able to trade out Merrett after three sub-50 scores on the trot, while Robertson is wearing the vest too often for my liking. The debut of Bews and value of Griffen is hard to ignore.
