JOHN Butcher is out of hospital but Port Adelaide teammate Jarrad Redden will remain, with tests confirming he too has viral meningitis.
Butcher was hospitalised with the infection on Thursday and while he was allowed home on Monday, Redden will continue to recover under care.
With several players affected by illness at the weekend, hygiene has been a point of focus at Port Adelaide this week.
Players and staff have been urged to use commonsense measures, such as the use of hand sanitizer, to limit further infection.
