GREATER Western Sydney says it will announce some key re-signings in the very near future and is confident it can keep the wolves at bay and retain the majority of its blue-chip talent.

Key forward Jon Patton is the latest Giant to face speculation over his future, with the 2011 No.1 draft pick reportedly the subject of a big-money bid from the Western Bulldogs.

Patton, Jeremy Cameron, Dylan Shiel, Adam Treloar and Stephen Coniglio and a host of the club's best youngsters are all coming off contract at the end of 2015, and the rest of the AFL is on high alert.

The prevailing sentiment from outside the club is that if one of them announces his intention to stay, it could have a flow-on effect for the rest.

GWS coach Leon Cameron seems extremely content with the situation and says the immediate priority is signing players off contract at the end of this season.

Jono O'Rourke and Kristian Jaksch, picks two and 12 respectively in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft, are among a small group yet to sign on beyond 2014.

"We'll make an announcement in a couple of weeks' time on a couple of our boys," Cameron said on Thursday.

"But there's still 16 months before Jon comes out of contract, like a number of these players.

"There's a lot of speculation that happens, when realistically I'm more concerned about some of our boys that are out of contract this year.

"We understand that players shift clubs, but as Jon stated before, 16 months is a long time.

"But the way he's progressing at this footy club, we couldn't be happier with him, along with a number of our other players."

Patton says he takes very little notice of the talk outside the club and his priority has just been on playing consistent football after injury wrecked his first two years at the club.

"It's just in one ear and out the other," the 21-year-old said.

"I've still got three games to play for the rest of the year so I just want to get through that, then I'll speak to my manager in the off-season.

"But I've got to the end of next year still, so I've got a long time to work out some things, and I love Sydney.

"It's a good place to live and when I go down to Melbourne it's pretty cold, so I don't know about that."

Leon Cameron anticipated all the speculation over his players, but is prepared to take their declarations "on face value".

"There's a lot of speculation about a lot of our players at the moment," he said.

"My reaction is, we can't control what the outside world are going to write about our players.

"What I can control is the environment we create at this footy club.

"Jon's gone on record a number of times that he's happy living in Sydney, he loves the footy club, he's built up some really strong relationships with his teammates, his coaches, the people involved at the club.

"I take our players on face value and when Jon says that, that's all I'm worried about.

"We're making sure that our boys are growing up in a really, really good environment and a great culture and I think we're achieving that."

Patton was the club's first ever draft pick, taken with pick No.1 in 2011, but only made 10 appearances in his first two years due to consecutive knee injuries.

Part of his treatment for knee tendinopathy in 2012 included a trip to Sweden for revolutionary treatment and while he has made 18 appearances to date this year, kicking 25 goals, he feels he's still in debt to the club.

"I definitely feel like I need to give back, especially after the first two years and how patient they were with me," he said.

"They never rushed me with anything and always listened to me and to my body and never pressured me to do more than what I was capable of.

"You always keep those things in mind and they've treated me amazingly at the club."
