FREMANTLE midfielder Nat Fyfe will contest his striking charge at the Tribunal on Tuesday night.

The Fremantle star was set to miss the rest of the home and away season after being offered a two-match suspension for an off-the-ball strike on Hawthorn's Jordan Lewis.

But with Freo's top-four berth still not locked away, and two crucial games to come against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba and Port Adelaide at Patersons Stadium, the Dockers have chosen to challenge Fyfe's charge.

Fyfe's case will be heard second at the Tribunal, following Brent Harvey's misconduct charge.

North will be missing midfielder Daniel Wells in its clash against Adelaide after he accepted a combined one-game penalty for striking and rough conduct charges.

Fyfe collected Lewis with a round-arm action during the first quarter of the Dockers' win at Patersons Stadium on Sunday.

Lewis left the field straight after the incident but came back on, played out the game and finished with 44 disposals.

The MRP classified the incident as intentional, low impact and high contact.

Fyfe's poor recent record (he was suspended for two matches in controversial circumstances earlier this season) means he cannot escape a two-game ban even if he pleads guilty.

If he accepts the punishment, he will miss Freo's last two home and away games against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba and Port Adelaide at Patersons Stadium.
