BRAD Scott is expecting a week of selection headaches ahead of North Melbourne's elimination final against Essendon on Saturday night, saying the stars rested against Melbourne last round were not guaranteed starters this week.

Scott told reporters on Monday Todd Goldstein, Lindsay Thomas, Luke McDonald and Michael Firrito, who were all rested from the Dees clash, and Levi Greenwood, who was sidelined with a minor calf injury, would be fit to take on the Bombers.

But that did not mean they would automatically be selected.

"No one's definite this week. We've got some really good problems and things to work through, but we'll put the side in that we think is best equipped to get the job done against Essendon," the Roos coach said.

"No one's guaranteed and we're going to have a long series of meetings this week I suspect.

"(The players rested against Melbourne) are all available. Whether they all get picked is another story."

The Roos emerged from last round's win over Melbourne with some injury concerns, with forward Leigh Adams (concussion) and key defenders Lachlan Hansen (hip) and Nathan Grima (corked quad) all hurt during the 30-point win.

Scott was confident Adams and Grima would play against the Bombers and said Hansen, who returned from three weeks on the sidelines against Melbourne and lasted only half a game, had yet to be ruled out.

"Leigh should be fine, he's a little warrior," Scott said.

"He gets knocked around a fair bit so we'll have to be obviously very careful with him and make sure that we treat him appropriately and make sure that he's right to go.

"But I suspect we won't know that until Thursday or even Friday.

"Lachy pulled up a bit sore again, so we'll assess him through the week.

"But he's a pretty important player to us. He has shown he's an important part of our back half and if he's fit and right to go we'll select him, if not we won't."

Scott said Grima's injury was "pretty minor".

"He's a warrior, he's a competitor, I suspect he'll be right," Scott said.

The Roos coach was confident his team was hitting peak form approaching the finals, primarily because of a dwindling injury list.

North has been hit by injuries to key players most of this season, with captain Andrew Swallow (Achilles) missing the Roos' first seven games, Daniel Wells (foot) sidelined between rounds five and 21, and Grima (foot) between rounds seven and 20.

"In terms of players available, that's pretty much as good as it's been all year," Scott said.

"Obviously, the captain missed the first half of the year, a lot of players through our midfield were missing, and now they're all back and in good form and available at the same time.

"In that sense, we're in good shape.

"We're coming into a finals series on the back of four straight wins, so the opportunity is there for us and we feel ready to take it."
