COLLINGWOOD'S father-son recruit Darcy Moore will wear No.30 in 2015, assuming the number his father Peter wore at the Magpies when he won the 1979 Brownlow medal.

The 18-year-old Moore said it was a humbling feeling to have the chance to wear the same number as his decorated father.

Moore played 172 games with Collingwood between 1974-82 before joining Melbourne in 1983. He also won the 1984 Brownlow medal at the Demons.

The athletic Moore changed the face of rucking at the Magpies, winning two club best and fairest awards, leading the club's goakicking twice but playing in five Grand Finals without a win.

The Magpies will use pick No.8 in the NAB AFL Draft to select Darcy Moore.

"I’m really proud of what he’s done and I’m ready to make a contribution in the jumper as well." Moore told collingwoodfc.com.au.

Promising Collingwood forward Jamie Elliott has been awarded the No.5 jumper for 2015, the number worn by two of the Magpies' past three captains.

Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley made the number famous, winning a Norm Smith Medal, a Brownlow Medal and six club best and fairests before handing it over to Nick Maxwell, who led the club to the 2010 premiership.

Maxwell's port in a Storm

Elliott mentioned his hope to wear the number to Maxwell at a party post-season and the wheels were set in motion.

"It’s a big number and it’s a huge privilege to get it," Elliott told collingwoodfc.com.au.

Ron McKeown and Barry Price are other famous Magpies to wear No.5.

Elliott wore No. 35 in 2012, the number now worn for one season by Collingwood's highest pick in the draft to honour Peter Daicos and Simon Prestigiacomo, before wearing No. 19.

He has kicked 63 goals in 37 matches wearing No.19 and has become one of the Magpies' favourite players among fans.

Maxwell also wore two numbers at Collingwood (No.43 and 27) before being handed No.5 in 2008.

High-priced recruit Levi Greenwood will take Elliott's No.19 into the midfield while Geelong premiership player Travis Varcoe will wear No.18 in 2015.

Jesse White will move from No.18 to No.9, a name famously associated with enigmatic former Collingwood forwards Phil Carman and Brian Taylor.

Jack Crisp will wear No.25 after being recruited from the Brisbane Lions, a number previously worn by popular former Magpies Billy Picken and Josh Fraser.

Matt Scharenberg will hand over No.35 to Collingwood's first pick in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft (selection 5) and take No.12 previously worn by Luke Ball and Denis Banks.

Defender Tom Langdon will move from No.41 to No.8, made famous by defenders Heritier Lumumba and James Clement, while Jonathan Marsh takes over No.17 from Dayne Beams. Nathan Freeman becomes No.21 and Mason Cox No.46.
