JOSH Kelly already seems like a seasoned veteran and is certain to become an elite AFL midfielder, his Greater Western Sydney teammate Adam Treloar says.

The No.2 pick in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft played 18 games in his first season after making his debut in round two.

He played in the final 11 games of the season and finished the year with 13 goals.

Treloar has played 58 games for the Giants in three seasons and is one of the club's best young midfielders, but he says Kelly is one to watch.

"He is super professional with the way he goes about everything," Treloar told AFL.com.au. "He is a second-year player and he acts like a veteran in the footy club."

Kelly averaged 17 disposals playing just 70 per cent of game time with a third of his possessions being contested.

"He's confident. He has all the skills, he can run, he's quick, he's good overhead for his size, he can play inside and outside," Treloar said.

He said the lightly framed Kelly only needed to put on more weight to match it with the game's best.

Listed at 75 kg at the start of 2014 Kelly is now 79 kg as he builds the strength to match it with big-bodied experienced midfielders. He has elite endurance and is a good runner.

The Giants recognised his talent at the end of 2014 presenting him with the club's rising star award.

Treloar, 21, is one of the club's young stars out of contract at the end of the season but he has indicated a willingness to stick around beyond 2015.

"I want to play good footy and train and I know next year when the time comes we'll work everything out," Treloar said.

"It will take care of itself."
