ST KILDA is confident captain Nick Riewoldt will be cleared to play against the Brisbane Lions on Sunday, two weeks after he was concussed in a sickening collision at Adelaide Oval.

Riewoldt was advised by champion forward Jonathan Brown to consider his playing future after another concussion, but he has recovered quickly and was due to meet with a neurologist and the Saints' doctor this week.

Head physiotherapist Andrew Wallis said the star goalkicker had progressed well this week and ticked every box in his recovery.

"We obviously have training today and on Thursday and he has to pass that to be available for selection," Wallis told saints.com.au.

St Kilda also expects to be boosted by the return of tall defender Luke Delaney (hip), who would replace Sam Fisher, who suffered a hamstring injury against West Coast at the weekend.

Small forward Jack Lonie and defender Jimmy Webster, who have each suffered concussion in the past two weeks, are also expected to be available alongside defender Jarryn Geary (corked thigh).
