IN-FORM midfielder Mitch Wallis is the latest impressive youngster to recommit to the Western Bulldogs by penning a three-year deal.

AFL.com.au revealed in June the 22-year-old was on the verge re-signing after becoming a pivotal member of Dogs' burgeoning young midfield in 2015.

Out of favour for much of last season, Wallis has flourished under new coach Luke Beveridge in a more attacking midfield role and is averaging a career-best 21 disposals and five tackles.

He also added goal kicking to his repertoire, slotting 10 majors from 12 games this season.

"Along with Liam Picken, Mitch has shouldered a lot of responsibility and leadership in the midfield this year and has been central to some of our wins this season," Bulldogs list manager Jason McCartney told the club website.

"He is a mature head, who is totally committed to the footy club in everything he does, and we’re really pleased to extend his contract for another three years."

Wallis joins Jake Stringer, Tom Liberatore, Jack Macrae, Luke Dahlhaus and Liam Picken as key Bulldogs to re-sign in 2015.
