RICHMOND has moved quickly to re-sign in-form midfielder Anthony Miles, locking him away until the end of the 2017 season.

Young key defender Todd Elton has also been secured for the next two years, all but ruling out a move away from Tigerland at the end of this season.

Miles was contracted until the end of 2016, but his excellent form this season has prompted the Tigers to act early and extend his deal by one year.

The 23-year-old has played every game this season, averaging 24 disposals and ranking No.1 at the club for clearances with 5.6 a game.

Elton, meanwhile, has signed a two-year contract extension, underlining the Tigers' faith in the developing key defender.

Elton has played just two matches in his four years at Richmond, with selection in the Tigers' rock solid backline hard to secure.

He shaped as a potential out-of-contract target for rival clubs chasing a young key defender.
