ADELAIDE has suffered an injury blow ahead of Saturday's clash against Richmond at Etihad Stadium, with emerging midfielder Brad Crouch withdrawn from its squad with hamstring soreness.

Midfielder Jarryd Lyons, who had 26 disposals and 10 clearances in a best afield display in the SANFL last weekend, comes into the side to replace Crouch.

Cam Ellis-Yolmen has been added to the emergencies for the Crows.

Crows high performance manager Brett Burton said the club had decided to take every precaution with Crouch's ailment.

"Brad experienced some hamstring tightness during training on Wednesday,” Burton said.

"We will take a conservative approach with him and assess him again during the week."

Crouch's omission is a big blow for the Crows who will be eager to carry on the momentum they built in a 58-point thrashing of Port Adelaide last weekend.

The 22-year-old had 23 disposals in last week's Showdown, which follows a 2015 season wiped out by a serious foot injury.

Crouch was also suspended for one NAB Challenge match earlier this year, alongside Rory Atkins, for disciplinary reasons.
