• The injury list: Your club's sidelined players

Adelaide

It's pretty difficult to win a spot in Adelaide's team at the moment, with the Crows having won six consecutive games and close to a full strength team on the park. Paul Seedsman has missed the past two games with a hamstring injury, but could return if declared fit. Wayne Milera's disposal efficiency in the SANFL was a highlight, and he finished with 24 touches. Defender Andy Otten also picked up 24 disposals, while midfielder Dean Gore won a game-high 12 contested possessions among his 24 disposals. - Dinny Navaratnam

Brisbane

After a week off with the bye, the Lions should be refreshed to take on Gold Coast in Saturday's QClash at Metricon Stadium and will welcome back vice-captain Dayne Zorko. The speedy midfielder missed the previous game against Richmond with a personal matter but will be right to go against the Suns. Running defender Tom Cutler has also overcome a hamstring injury and will be right to play. - Michael Whiting

Carlton

The Blues are in desperate need of outside run and their woes were compounded by the season-ending knee injury to Irishman Ciaran Byrne last Saturday night. The pacy Blaine Boekhorst is likely to come under strong consideration for Sunday’s match against Adelaide after making an impressive comeback in the VFL last Saturday. After missing a month with a broken wrist, Boekhorst finished with 16 touches and two goals switching between wing and half-forward. Nick Graham may be given another chance after a superb display in the midfield, collecting a game-high 36 possessions, 10 inside 50s and nine clearances. Mark Whiley (26 disposals and eight tackles) performed solidly and Dylan Buckley's speed could be an asset on the MCG. The Blues were buoyed by the return of Charlie Curnow in the Northern Blues development side on Sunday after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with glandular fever and a minor ankle injury. - Howard Kotton

Collingwood

The Magpies' quest to upset Greater Western Sydney at Spotless Stadium on Saturday could be boosted by three significant inclusions. Midfielder Taylor Adams (hamstring), leading goalkicker Alex Fasolo (fractured shoulder blade) and defender Jonathon Marsh (calf) – each of whom face fitness tests – would be welcome additions to a team that has won two on the trot. Big man Jesse White, who was stiff to be omitted last week to make way for Darcy Moore, responded in the best way possible in the VFL, producing what Pies reserves coach Dean Tapping hailed as a "huge" performance in a thrilling win over the Northern Blues. Other names that could be raised at the selection table include veteran Brent Macaffer, ruckman Jarrod Witts, defender Adam Oxley and young runners Matthew Goodyear and Rupert Wills. - Ben Collins

Essendon

The Bombers look set to turn to Shaun McKernan to shoulder the ruck load this weekend against St Kilda with first-choice duo Matthew Leuenberger (knee) and Mark Jamar (hamstring/suspension) to be unavailable. Coach John Worsfold has already noted the Bombers won't be looking at upgrading gun youngster Aaron Francis for a debut for at least another week, but Kyle Langford and Jayden Laverde are a chance to come into the side after solid displays at VFL level. Conor McKenna, too, was strong with 23 disposals and seven inside-50s, while James Polkinghorne and Jake Long continue to put their hands up for an AFL spot. - Callum Twomey

Fremantle

The Dockers had just 28 fit players to choose from in their last match against Collingwood. They subsequently lost Michael Barlow to a broken finger and Clancee Pearce to an ankle injury. Ed Langdon and Garrick Ibbotson were the other two emergencies against the Magpies and Langdon would be the logical replacement for Barlow. The Dockers are hopeful of regaining Jon Griffin from a hamstring injury this week. Ethan Hughes is also set to be available after recovering from a calf strain but Ross Lyon has indicated he would like him to get a run in the WAFL under his belt. Anthony Morabito is also set to return from an ankle injury but the Dockers would not throw him into AFL action straight away. - Alex Malcolm

Geelong

Mitch Clark is in contention after four strong performances in the VFL. It would be his first senior game since round nine last season if he is selected. The Cats are also considering whether to include Nakia Cockatoo after he played one half of VFL football ahead of the bye. The young speedster has not played since he injured his knee against West Coast in round seven. Cockatoo is yet to play in a losing Cats' line-up in 2016. Darcy Lang was among the Cats' best in the VFL win over Williamstown while Jed Bews is good enough to be considered while Josh Cowan has shown promising signs in recent weeks. Sam Menegola is also a chance to make his debut after a string of solid VFL performances. - Peter Ryan

Gold Coast

Fresh from breaking a 10-game losing streak with victory over St Kilda at the weekend, the Suns won't make too many changes to take on the Brisbane Lions at home on Saturday. Wingman Matt Rosa's hamstring injury means there'll be at least one forced change, with small forward Jarrod Garlett a likely replacement after a blistering performance in the NEAFL. Young midfielder Jesse Lonergan is also available after overcoming a mild dose of glandular fever and could also come into calculations. - Michael Whiting

GWS

Injuries to defenders Phil Davis (calf) and Matt Buntine (hamstring) will force at least two changes to the side that beat Carlton before the bye, with Adam Tomlinson and Adam Kennedy the most likely replacements. Tomlinson has starred at NEAFL level all season but has struggled to cement his spot in the senior team, while Kennedy has recovered from a shoulder injury and proved his fitness in the reserves before the bye last week. Jack Steele, Jake Barrett, Sam Reid and Daniel Lloyd were in good touch before the week off, as was GWS Academy draftee Harry Himmelberg, who could be a smoky to make his debut against Collingwood on Saturday afternoon. Key defenders Caleb Marchbank (ankle) and Tim Mohr (hamstring) are hopeful of returning to the field this week but will turn out in the NEAFL if passed fit. - Adam Curley

Hawthorn

It is hard to see sweeping changes to a side that found itself moving a game clear on top of the ladder over the weekend, without doing anything more strenuous than switching on the TV and cheering on the Western Bulldogs. Cyril Rioli missed the win over Gold Coast before the bye round and will be a key inclusion to face Port Adelaide on Thursday night, the first of a pair of critical interstate Thursday night games. Given Box Hill also had the bye, it is hard to see any further inclusions for the trip to Adelaide Oval, although veteran Brendan Whitecross continued to impress in the VFL and should get an opportunity at AFL level before the finals. As for who makes away for Rioli, Daniel Howe appears the most vulnerable or key defender Kaiden Brand if the Hawks believe they're too top heavy in defence. - Ashley Browne

Melbourne

Last week, Paul Roos spoke about the potential of rotating the team through the back half of the season, in particular, as Melbourne's young players begin to tire. The Demons had no new injuries pop up in their AFL side but a number of players put pressure on from underneath. Jack Grimes (29 disposals) has been close to selection for weeks and the game against the Dockers could finally see him break into the AFL side for the first time this season. Viv Michie (31 touches), Alex Neal-Bullen (27) and Clayton Oliver (24) were all prolific for the Casey Scorpions through the midfield and will come into the discussion. Angus Brayshaw collected 22 touches, but the Demons will continue to be careful with his return after two separate concussions. - Ben Guthrie

North Melbourne

The bruised and battered Kangaroos needed the bye more than most, and they'll be hoping for the returns of stars Daniel Wells (calf) and Jarrad Waite (hip) for the potentially season-defining clash with West Coast in Perth on Sunday. Both players trained on Monday and with another five days until game day, they should be right for the flight west. Werribee also had the bye last weekend, but if the Roos are looking for some extra run at Domain Stadium then Jed Anderson and Ryan Clarke (33 disposals, 11 clearances v Coburg on June 25) would have to be in the picture. Anderson has now had two games back in the VFL from a long-term hamstring injury and his spark could help North against the Eagles, while Majak Daw should also be in the mix after being a late withdrawal against Adelaide before the bye – especially if the Roos want to test Scott Lycett in the ruck. - Travis King

Port Adelaide

Port is coming off a good win against the Tigers and appeared to get through relatively unscathed. Jack Hombsch was a late withdrawal and will miss several weeks with a quad strain. The Power brought back Jay Schulz last week for his first game since round one but John Butcher has pushed his case for a recall with six goals in the SANFL. Jimmy Toumpas had 39 touches to put himself in calculations this week. Sam Gray had 11 clearances in the SANFL but the Power dominated the clearances against Richmond. Jared Polec and Paul Stewart remain in mix but the SANFL players played on Saturday so it will be tough for them to play against Hawthorn off a five-day break. - Alex Malcolm

Richmond

This is the Tigers' most intriguing week at selection this season after conceding they can't play finals. There is an expectation the match committee will start looking to youth in the final eight rounds and dashing half-back Jason Castagna is at the front of the queue, having earned a chance through his VFL form. Tall forward Liam McBean is the player the club needs to know if it will go forward with after two games in four seasons, and he should be given a chance. Daniel Rioli (12 tackles in the VFL) should also return. Ruckman Shaun Hampson (knee) faces a fitness test this week, as does defender Jake Batchelor (back). Half-forward Ben Lennon is close after one game in the VFL back from injury, as is midfielder Nathan Drummond, who has played five matches after 12 months sidelined with a knee injury. - Nathan Schmook

St Kilda

Paddy McCartin won't face Essendon on Sunday after he was concussed against Gold Coast. Coming into his spot could be forward/ruck Lewis Pierce, who made his debut in round 12. Yet another influential game through the midfield from Eli Templeton (33 disposals, six tackles) for Sandringham could see him push for senior selection. If Sean Dempster (knee) and Sam Fisher (hamstring) are fit, they will likely replace defensive pair Tom Lee and Luke Delaney. Wingman Jack Billings has overcome an ankle injury, but he seems more likely to return through the VFL. - Dinny Navaratnam

Sydney Swans

Key defenders Ted Richards and Aliir Aliir are in the mix for this week's game against Geelong at Simonds Stadium on Friday night, given the Cats' array of tall forward options. Heath Grundy, Jeremy Laidler and Dane Rampe filled the key defensive posts against the Western Bulldogs last week, but with Tom Hawkins, Rhys Stanley, Zac Smith, Shane Kersten and Mark Blicavs all capable of playing inside 50, along with Mitch Clark, who is a chance to come in to face the Swans, coach John Longmire looks likely to bring in some more height. Small forward Tom Papley has played two NEAFL games now after recovering from shin soreness and will also be looked at after the Swans struggled at ground level inside 50 against the Dogs. Young ruckman Sam Naismith has been in solid form in the reserves and could come in to replace Toby Nankervis, who hasn't managed to have an impact since coming into the side in Kurt Tippett's absence. - Adam Curley

West Coast

The Eagles have some selection quandaries following the win over Essendon. Josh Hill is available after missing the match with tonsillitis but whether he can squeeze back in remains to be seen. The experiment with Mitch Brown in the ruck was hardly a roaring success, meaning Jonathan Giles remains in the frame. Fraser McInnes is unavailable after suffering a hamstring injury. Eric Mackenzie was outstanding in the WAFL and could return to free up Jeremy McGovern. Jack Redden did exactly what was asked of him at WAFL level with 28 touches and three goals to press for an immediate recall. Xavier Ellis has been in sparkling touch at WAFL level as well and is ready to go if needed. Dom Sheed had a good first game back for East Perth but probably needs another couple of runs before he's ready to play for the Eagles. Liam Duggan is trying to fight his way back after 22 touches for East Perth and remains an outside chance. - Alex Malcolm

Western Bulldogs

It's unclear when Tom Boyd's indefinite suspension will end for his altercation with teammate Zaine Cordy. Luke Beveridge's weekly press conference on Tuesday will hopefully reveal whether the key forward has served his penance and will be recalled for Saturday night's clash against Richmond. Boyd was impressive with four goals in the VFL at the weekend, and it would be hard for the match committee to ignore that form considering Jack Redpath has been quiet in recent weeks. A foot injury will sideline key defender Marcus Adams for at least a fortnight with Cordy, Fletcher Roberts, Kieran Collins and Joel Hamling in line to replace the first-year sensation. Koby Stevens looks a certain inclusion after the midfielder racked up 37 disposals for Footscray, while Mitch Honeychurch was also prominent with 29 possessions and a goal. Midfielders Lin Jong and Lukas Webb had limited impact against the Swans and should be feeling a little nervous. Goalsneak Tory Dickson may also be due for a spell in the VFL to recapture some form after kicking only two goals in his past four matches. - Ryan Davidson
