SMALL forward Jarrod Garlett has re-signed with Gold Coast for two years.

As revealed by AFL.com.au on Monday night, the young West Australian has recommitted to the club until the end of 2018 after strong recent form.

Garlett was taken with the 15th pick of the 2014 NAB AFL Draft and has played 15 games, the best of which came in Saturday's loss against Greater Western Sydney where he coupled nine tackles with 19 disposals.

"I am incredibly grateful and rapt to extend my contract with Gold Coast," Garlett said.

"The playing group have stuck together and each day we’re driving each other to be better.

"I knew there it would be difficult to move away from family in Perth to play AFL footy, but the club welcomed me in from day one and I have always been surrounded by strong support."
Garlett's career was at a crossroad mid-season, but after an extended stay in his home town, he returned to the Coast and has not looked back.

Gold Coast list manager Scott Clayton said Garlett's new contract was a reward for his hard work.

"He is a promising young player, who hasn’t rested on his laurels; he wants to work hard to get the best out of himself," Clayton said.
