FREMANTLE is set to delay decisions on the future of a group of players to allow them to focus on playing for Peel Thunder in the WAFL finals series in September.

The Dockers' dismal season will end on Sunday afternoon when they host the Western Bulldogs in Matthew Pavlich's farewell match at Domain Stadium.

But while the season will end for the majority of the Dockers, as many as 19 players will continue on next week after playing the minimum five games required to qualify for the WAFL finals.

That group includes unrestricted free agents Zac Clarke, Matt de Boer and Clancee Pearce, as well as Tendai Mzungu, Alex Silvagni, Anthony Morabito, Jack Hannath, Tanner Smith and Josh Deluca who are all coming out of contract at the end of the season.

With the club set to embark on an extensive list turnover the futures of these players, among many others, remains unknown.

But those players that have qualified for WAFL finals will be allowed to focus on playing for Peel Thunder before any formal decision is made from a Fremantle perspective.

This will be the Peel's second consecutive appearance in the finals, having never previously played a final since joining the competition back in 1997.

Peel Thunder became the Dockers' WAFL-affiliate club in 2014 under an alignment deal that was struck to allow AFL listed players to play together at one club.

West Coast aligned with East Perth in the same year. Should East Perth beat East Fremantle on Saturday, Peel Thunder and East Perth will meet in an elimination final the following weekend.
