WEST Coast's threadbare big-man stocks have dwindled even further with Fraser McInnes ruled out for the remainder of the year following another serious hamstring injury.

McInnes, 23, suffered the injury to his right hamstring during Sunday's WAFL elimination final while playing for East Perth.

The 197cm ruck/key forward has had ongoing problems with his hamstrings.

He had surgery last year after making his AFL debut in round four of that season.

He played seven AFL games in 2015 and two more matches earlier this year but injured his hamstring again in the WAFL in round 15. He returned to play the last four weeks at WAFL level before suffering yet another recurrence.

McInnes will have an MRI this week to determine the extent of the issue before any decisions are made on his rehab.

The Eagles are already without star ruckman Nic Naitanui for the remainder of this year and most of next year as he begins the long rehabilitation from his knee reconstruction.

Naitanui's fellow ruck Scott Lycett is battling a posterior cruciate ligament injury in his left knee but is set to play in Thursday night's elimination final against the Western Bulldogs, provided he gets through the Eagles' last training session on Wednesday unscathed.

Key defender Mitch Brown, who is only 195cm, was held out of the WAFL on Sunday as cover for Lycett. That decision was made prior to McInnes' latest injury.

McInnes is the fourth-tallest player on the Eagles' list behind Naitanui, Lycett and Jonathan Giles, who shone in West Coast's round 23 win over Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

McInnes has played nine games for West Coast in five seasons on the list after he was recruited up with pick No.28 in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft.
