A BIDDING war between West Coast and Carlton looms in years to come after champion midfielder Chris Judd and wife Rebecca welcomed twin boys on Thursday.

Tom and Darcy Judd were born around lunchtime on Thursday and join five-year-old brother Oscar and two-year-old sister Billie in the Judds' growing family.

Rebecca Judd announced the news on social media, posting a photo of the twin boys with the proud parents on Instagram.

"Tom and Darcy Judd are here! Born at lunchtime today, perfectly healthy. We are the luckiest parents in the world," she wrote.

Judd played 134 games with West Coast before joining Carlton and playing another 145, so both clubs would be eligible to bid for the Judd boys under father-son rules if they pursued AFL careers.

Oscar has already pledged his allegiance to West Coast, swayed to his dad's first club by star ruckman Nic Naitanui.

Judd won his first Brownlow with West Coast in 2004 before captaining the club to the 2006 premiership.

He joined Carlton ahead of the 2008 season and won the 2010 Brownlow Medal, becoming one of just five players to win the prestigious award at two different clubs.
