MELBOURNE utility Cam Pedersen will be at the club in 2018, having signed a new one year-deal.

Fellow big man Declan Keilty will stay on the rookie list next season after also inking a one-year contract.

Pedersen, 30, has shown his worth in the absence of key Demons such as ruckman Max Gawn and key forward Jesse Hogan, excelling in both positions.

"His attitude to coming here and playing whatever role we need him to play has had a big influence on us and he’s earned another year," football manager Josh Mahoney told melbournefc.com.au.

Pedersen has played 74 games since being picked up by North Melbourne in 2010.

Keilty, 22, is yet to make his debut but is an adaptable tall who generally plays in defence.

"Declan came onto our rookie list after a couple of solid years at Casey Demons," Mahoney said.

"We've been happy with his development throughout the year, particularly his past four to six weeks – his form at Casey has been very good."
