ESSENDON will not be drawn on speculation it is in the running for star Greater Western Sydney midfielder Josh Kelly.

A Herald Sun report suggested the Bombers were suitors for the 22-year-old, whose contract expires at season's end.

That story included a digitally altered image with Kelly wearing red and black splashed across the back page.

"Is this a cliché? The coaches get accused of this but I haven't seen it," Worsfold said on Wednesday, to the amusement of reporters.

"No, fair dinkum, I haven't seen the photo," he said with a smile.

Kelly's manager Paul Connors confirmed to Melbourne radio station SEN on Tuesday morning that unsurprisingly, "many clubs have inquired about (his client)".

Worsfold was asked whether Essendon would be in with a shot to land Kelly.

"I have no idea," Worsfold said.
