CHAMPION Hawthorn full-forward Jason Dunstall received another huge award on Thursday night when he was named as a legend of the Queensland Sports Hall of Fame.

He is just the 17th athlete to receive the honour and the first from the AFL.

Recruited from Coorparoo in suburban Brisbane, Dunstall kicked 1254 goals for the Hawks between 1985 and 1998 and is the third highest goalkicker in VFL/AFL history.

He played in four Hawthorn premiership teams, won three Coleman Medals and was a four-time All Australian.

Dunstall is a member of the Australian Football Hall of Fame and a legend in the Hawthorn Hall of Fame.

The other legends are Arthur Beetson (rugby league), Allan Border (cricket), Greg Chappell (cricket), John Eales (rugby union), Roy Emerson (tennis), Mick Doohan (motor sport), Cathy Freeman (athletics), Tim Horan (rugby union), Rod Laver (tennis), Wally Lewis (rugby league), George Moore (horse racing), Greg Norman (golf), Susie O'Neill (swimming), Kieren Perkins (swimming), David Theile (swimming) and Vicki Wilson (netball).
