GOLD Coast has suffered a huge blow with co-captain Steven May ruled out for 4-6 weeks with an ankle injury.

May, 26, damaged the lateral ligament in his right ankle late in Saturday's loss to Geelong after clashing with Cats superstar Patrick Dangerfield while trying to spoil.

The club said midfielder Aaron Hall would have scans on Monday night to determine how long he would be sidelined for after injuring left shoulder in the second quarter while trying to tackle Joel Selwood.

He didn't return to the game and was sporting a sling.

In good news for the Suns, Aaron Young could face Greater Western Sydney on Saturday after scans revealed he hadn't seriously hurt his right ankle.

Young needs to train and pass a fitness test to make the trip to Spotless Stadium.
