LIVE music will be a major part of the 2011 Toyota AFL Finals Series, with pre-match performances scheduled each week.

‘Live at the Finals’ builds on the success of the ‘Live at the G’ music program that featured emerging artists such as Little Red, Paris Wells and Airbourne throughout the season.

The line-up of musicians for the finals celebrates the best of Australian music and includes a combination of current popular artists, emerging talent and greats of the music industry.

Internationally acclaimed Australian group Eskimo Joe will kick the program off with a performance scheduled for the first week of finals.

General Manager Strategy and Marketing Andrew Catterall said it is exciting to celebrate the finals with more music than ever before.

“Traditionally, the AFL Grand Final has been the focus for music and entertainment, and certainly this year is no exception with top-selling international artist Meat Loaf announced as the headline performer.

“We’re also thrilled to announce we will be showcasing the Australian music industry each week of the finals in 2011.  Supporters will have the opportunity to not only attend a great game of football, but also a great live music performance” said Mr. Catterall.

In addition, Vanessa Amorosi has been confirmed to sing the national anthem at the 2011 Toyota AFL Grand Final.

The ‘Live at the Finals’ performances will be confirmed each week alongside the finals fixture.

Artists confirmed to perform are:

•    Eskimo Joe
•    Absolutely 80’s (featuring Brian Mannix, Scott Carne, Sean Kelly and Dale Ryder)
•    Wolfgramm Sisters
•    Ross Wilson
•    Dan Sultan
