Shannon Grant was an integral part of North Melbourne’s 1999 Premiership win and he was rewarded with the North-Smith Medal.

In recognition of his superb individual performance on that memorable day, the enigmatic Grant will receive a special tribute at the 1999 Premiership Reunion Luncheon.

“While everyone acknowledges our fourth premiership trophy was delivered to Arden Street after a brilliant team performance, we at the club felt it was appropriate to highlight Shannon’s remarkable day out,” North Director of Commercial Operations Anthony Trainor said.

Grant slotted through four pivotal goals, took five marks and racked up 19 disposals in the 35-point win.

“This event will be a great moment for the players and loyal North Melbourne supporters. These occasions obviously don’t occur too often and to have all these champions in the same room at the one time is historic and unique,” Trainor added.

After coming to the Kangaroos from Sydney after the 1997 season, Grant played 243 games and kicked 361 goals. He was a Syd Barker Medal winner in 2001 and All-Australian in 2005 before deciding to hang up his boots at the end of 2008.
