PASS MARK FOR 2014: The Power don't necessarily need to replicate last year's heroicsemi-final appearance to be granted a 'pass', but they need to become aconsistent force. There can be no walkover losses this year and anythinglower than 9th will be tough to take.

NEEDS A BIG YEAR: The time has come for John Butcher to deliver. He's promised so much forso long and, yes, injuries have held him back, but if Butcher fails in2014 his opportunities will start to dry up.

FIRST FIVE GAMES: Carlton (ES), Adelaide (AO), North Melbourne (ES), Brisbane Lions (AO), West Coast (PS)

PLAY TWICE: Adelaide, Melbourne, Carlton, Fremantle, Sydney Swans

TOUGHEST RUN: It's a tricky run home for the Power with games against Collingwood(away), the Swans (home), Gold Coast (away), Carlton (home) before theirfinal home and away game against Fremantle in Perth. They're all dangergames and will likely prove the difference between playing finals ormissing the eight.

DREAM SCENARIO: Ken Hinkley's men prove last year was no fluke and, indeed, just the beginning ofsomething special for Power fans. The side again qualifies for thefinals, beating the Crows on its way to another semi-final appearance.

WORST NIGHTMARE: The wheels fall off and the Power revert to their 2011/12 performanceswhere they were routinely smashed from pillar to post. Such a seasonwould undo much of the progress that has been made over the last 18 months.

PRESSURE RATING ON THE COACH: 3/10. As the reigning AFL Coaches Association coach of the year andhaving steered the Power through a remarkable 2013, the only pressure on KenHinkley will be to ensure his side continues to improve.
