Lynch wore the same number for most of his career at Gold Coast, except for his debut season when he wore No.46, while he donned the No.50 in last year's Sir Doug Nicholls Round in reference to the 50th anniversary of the 1967 referendum to see Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people included in the Australian population.

"I'll have 19, which is nice," Lynch told richmondfc.com.au.

"It's only a number, at the end of the day, but it makes it easier just keeping the same number. It's a nice fit."

No one wore that jumper at the Tigers this year.

The 25-year-old was acquired as a restricted free agent and signed a seven-year deal until the end of 2025 after the Suns chose not to match Richmond's offer.

Backman Greg Strachan has worn the number more than anyone else in the yellow and black, with 154 appearances.
