MELBOURNE first-gamer Jeremy Howe made his debut a memorable one with a superb snap goal late in the third quarter against Essendon at the MCG on Friday night.

The 20-year-old Tasmanian swooped on the ball deep in the forward pocket after it spilled to ground from a contest between fellow Demon Liam Jurrah and Essendon defender Dustin Fletcher.

At full pace, Howe then slotted a miraculous snap, Melbourne's sixth unanswered goal of the third quarter as the Demons surged 30 points clear.

The goal capped off an outstanding quarter of football for the spring-heeled half-forward, who amassed nine disposals for the term.
