THE ROUND four blockbuster between Narrm and Brisbane looks set to remain at Casey Fields.

There have been calls to move the potential finals preview between the two undefeated sides to the protected surrounds of Marvel Stadium.

"The game will go ahead as scheduled," an AFL spokesperson said.

There is also a Bledisloe Cup rugby union match between the Wallabies and the All Blacks on Thursday night at Marvel, with the AFLW game scheduled for 4:10pm on Sunday afternoon.

Brisbane coach Craig Starcevich was fully supportive of the idea when asked following the QClash win over Gold Coast.

"The obvious answer is yes, and it's more accessible for the Melbourne public too because that's a long way out of the centre of the city to watch two good teams go around," Starcevich said.

"The main obstacle is probably cost. Could you surcharge stadium games to offset your costs? People happily pay 10 bucks to come and watch these games. If you crank that up to $15 an entry for a stadium, I'm sure that wouldn't deter people and that could offset your cost.

"The main thing is if you're going to have two of the better teams in the comp playing in round four, I think in a venue and on a deck that suits the occasion probably is logical sense, really."

Narrm has an excellent record at the tricky venue, which is subject to howling winds, playing the ground well and knowing how to adapt the gameplan to protect the ball.

The Lions beat the Demons by 15 points at Casey in the very first meeting between the pair in round one, 2017, but lost at the venue in 2018 (six points), 2021 (two) and earlier this year (three).

The Demons also beat Brisbane by four points in the 2022 preliminary final at the MCG.

For the duration of AFLW Indigenous Round, the Demons will be rebranded as the Narrm Football Club. Narrm is the Aboriginal name for Melbourne which comes from the Woi Wurrung language, spoken by the traditional owners of the city and its surrounds.
