THE AFL is pleased to announce the return of the AFLW Community Camp program ahead of the 2026 NAB AFLW Season, with all 18 teams set to head out to local communities across the country.
Providing an opportunity for AFLW players to inspire the next generation and connect with women and girls in regional and remote communities, the Community Camp program involves visits to junior football clubs and schools where AFLW players take part in footy clinics and attend community events.
Reaching more than one million children since the program’s inception across the AFL and AFLW programs, more than 400 AFLW players are expected to take part in 2026.
Hawthorn, Melbourne and St Kilda will be the first teams to kick off its camps, visiting South Gippsland, Bright and Warragul respectively from 14-15 May before the rest of the clubs complete its visits across late May and June.
AFL Executive General Manager Game Development, Rob Auld said:
"With a vision for everyone to love and connect with Australia's game, it's fantastic to see our AFLW players help grow the game at a grassroots level ahead of the 2026 NAB AFLW Season," Auld said.
"AFLW Community Camps play an important role in inspiring the next generation, and create meaningful connections with fans and local communities as we encourage more girls to get involved in our game and achieve equal participation and representation by the decades end.
"With participation continuing to rise and more than 144,000 women and girls now lacing up their boots across Australia, these camps are vital in bringing our game to all corners of the country. I’d like to thank all the clubs, players and staff involved in delivering this important program."
