The final teams to compete in the 2026 Marsh AFL National Futures Girls match have been confirmed.

The talent showcase will be played at Windy Hill this Sunday, September 13 from 10:00am AEST. The match will be played prior to the NAB AFLW Round 5 clash between Richmond and St Kilda.

The competing teams for this year’s Marsh AFL National Futures Girls match have been named after AFLW stars Jasmine Fleming and Ellie McKenzie, who graduated through various AFL Talent Pathways programs prior to being drafted.

The Marsh AFL National Futures program brings talented players from every state and territory together in a high-performance environment ahead of their Draft year.

All players selected Futures programs are born in 2009 and are eligible to be selected in the 2027 Telstra AFLW Draft.

Players were nominated for the Futures programs by state talent managers, national selectors and AFLW club recruiters, with the squad announced last month.

Lani Cocks, Matilda Lange, Olivia Leslie and Madeline Nuss, who were selected in the 2026 Marsh AFL National Championships U18 All Australian Team as bottom-age players, all feature in the squad.

Another notable inclusion is Billie Hamilton, who is looking to follow in the footsteps of siblings Lexi, Cynthia and Riley by making it onto an AFL/W list.

Isabella Evans, Tori Evans and Lolita Savala have been withdrawn from the original squad due to injury, with Alexis Edgley, Nikkita Nixon and Marley Tape called in to replace the trio.

The Marsh AFL National Futures match will assist the selection process for the 2027 Marsh AFL National Academy Girls program. Players who don’t participate in Sunday’s match will still be eligible to be selected for the National Academy.

Players will train at the NEC Hangar on Saturday morning in preparation for Sunday’s showcase match.

The 2026 Marsh AFL National Futures Girls match will be broadcast live and free on the AFLW website and AFLW App.

Patrons attending the 2026 Marsh AFL National Futures Girls game are required to purchase a ticket to the NAB AFLW match between Richmond and St Kilda. Tickets can be purchased here.

MEDIA

Media who wish to cover the 2026 Marsh AFL National Futures Girls match are required to have AFLW accreditation.
