Collingwood goalless for the first time in Power pummelling

COLLINGWOOD has failed to kick a goal for the first time in its AFLW history, Port Adelaide keeping its mathematical finals hopes alive with a 48-point thumping at Alberton Oval on Friday night.

A difficult season in front of goal for the Magpies went from bad to worse, with Sam Wright’s side failing to kick a goal and registering its lowest-ever score as the Pies slumped to a 1-10 record.

05:45

Imogen Trengove had Collingwood’s best opportunity to kick a goal seven minutes into the final term when she ran onto a loose ball in space, but she pushed her attempt at her first AFLW goal to the right of the goalpost.

The result improved the Power’s record to 5-6 with one home-and-away game remaining and added around 12 percentage points, but Port still needs a small miracle to play finals.

Abbey Dowrick, Shineah Goody and Matilda Scholz were outstanding for the Power, who had winners across every line.

Classy Lions roar past Saints as milestone stars shine

BRISBANE has notched consecutive wins for the first time in 2026, defeating St Kilda by 52 points at RSEA Park on Saturday afternoon.

Despite sitting last on the ladder, the Saints showed plenty of fight under interim coach Matt Brewer, with Tyanna Smith booting two goals to keep her side competitive. However, Brisbane’s superior ball movement and efficiency inside 50 proved too much to overcome.

06:03

The Lions had nine different goalkickers, led by Sophie Conway (26 disposals, one goal), Ally Anderson (26 disposals, seven tackles) and Orla O’Dwyer (24 disposals, one goal). Natalie Grider also celebrated a special milestone, kicking her first AFLW goal in a record 96th game.

Brisbane is set to miss finals for just the second time in club history, but back-to-back wins, Conway’s after-the-siren goal in her 100th game and Grider’s record moment offer reasons for optimism as Craig Starcevich’s side looks to finish the season on a high.

Georgia Patrikios was also everywhere for the Saints, recording first 30-disposal game since Round 2 at 73% disposal efficiency.

Feline fine: Cats make it 10 straight with Dockers thumping

GEELONG further proved its credentials with a 30-point win over Fremantle in the face of high pressure, wet conditions, and players dropping like flies.

A fast start from the Cats, in which is kicked four first-quarter goals, led to the 9.10 (64) to 5.4 (34) win at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The physicality of the match had the medical staff from both clubs busy throughout the second half, as Rachel Kearns, Noa McNaughton, and Aoife Healy all finished the game in the grey, and a host of others rotating through assessments.

05:49

Geelong's early attack caught Fremantle on the back foot, with scores from four of its first five forward entries. Chantal Mason was immense all day and set the standard early with four score involvements in the opening term. It was an important role in the absence of Jackie Parry (concussion).

Despite that tough start, the Dockers were able to recalibrate and ramp up the pressure. Their efforts were effective in slowing the Cats' attacking game, but didn't quite prove fruitful enough in generating their own score.

Unfortunately for the Dockers, it was a hit to their percentage that they couldn't afford with Adelaide and Hawthorn breathing down their necks for the final spot in the top eight, with Sydney still to come in round 12.

Havana good time: Harris fires as Suns down Tigers to stay in top-four hunt

GOLD Coast kept its top four chances alive with a gutsy four-point win over Richmond at a wet People First Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Trailing by 11 points at half-time and down two players for a good portion of the game, the Suns kicked four third-quarter goals and hung on to win 8.6 (54) to 7.8 (50).

The victory moved Rhyce Shaw's team to 8-3, with a final round win over Greater Western Sydney required to give themselves a shot at the coveted double chance in November.

06:15

Havana Harris continued her ascension as one of the competition's best young forwards, kicking a career-high four goals, with three in the second half as her team swung momentum dramatically.

Co-captain Niamh McLaughlin was arguably best on ground, with her quick feet, sure hands and good decisions crucial in her 32-disposal performance, while prolific Charlie Rowbottom (33) was also central to victory.

Gold Coast played most of the game without Dekota Baron, who was ruled out early in the second quarter following a head knock, while Daisy D'Arcy joined her on the sidelines in the third term with concussion.

With the ball camped inside Gold Coast's defensive 50 for most of the last 10 minutes, they repeatedly rushed behinds to hold off the fighting Tigers.

Demons dominate Dogs to lock in coveted double chance

IN WET conditions, the class of Melbourne's Alyssa Bannan stood out, the speedy winger kicking two goals in the Demons' 17-point victory over the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night.

Bannan was the only multiple goal scorer in the low scoring affair at Whitten Oval, Melbourne winning 5.7 (37) to 2.8 (20) in front of a crowd of 2,247.

Both clubs were hit with injuries in the scrappy encounter, with the Bulldogs losing co-skipper Isabelle Pritchard to a knee injury, while Melbourne finished the game without defender Sinead Goldrick (hamstring) and Shelley Heath-Barker (concussion).

05:20

Bulldogs coach Tam Hyett played down the injury to Pritchard post-match, saying the club was being cautious ruling their star-midfielder out for the final quarter given the Dogs have finals on the horizon.

The loss moves the Bulldogs out of the top four and ends the club's five game winning streak, while the win all but seals the Demons' top-four spot.

Molloy boots five, Swans hold off Eagles to secure finals spot

SYDNEY has locked in its first finals appearance since 2023 following a 22-point victory over West Coast at Henson Park on Sunday.

A five-goal masterclass from Chloe Molloy led the Swans to a 12.6 (78) to 8.8 (56) win in blustery conditions, overcoming an early 14-point deficit in a high-scoring shootout that featured eight lead changes.

06:09

Although West Coast was hyper-efficient inside 50, converting 59.4 per cent of entries to Sydney’s 47.6, the Swans' dominance in clearances (30–27) and territory (40–32 inside 50s) ultimately proved decisive.

Roos survive Crows scare in wet and wild Tassie tussle

ADELAIDE has given North Melbourne a run for its money, with the Crows leading the Kangaroos by one point at three-quarter time before being overrun late at North Hobart Oval to ultimately go down by nine points.

After conceding the first two goals of the game, the Crows kept North goalless in the second term before making the most of the scrappy and wet conditions to lead by three points at half time.

05:09

The Roos' stars lifted in the final term to overrun the Crows 5.8 (38) to 4.5 (29).

Captain Jasmine Garner and ball magnet Ash Riddell had 32 disposals apiece, while Erika O'Shea had 26 and 16 intercepts.

Hawks put one foot in finals after surviving Bombers slog

HAWTHORN is in the box seat to grab the final spot in the top eight after they shook off a dogged Essendon in a tight five-point win on Sunday.

Essendon dominated play in the final, soggy quarter, but with all but two players living inside 50, couldn't find a clear path to goal, despite various pleas for holding the ball and insufficient intent in the 3.7 (25) to 3.2 (20) result.

05:11

Maddy Prespakis and Jas Fleming were locked in an engaging battle throughout the match, but the Bomber didn't have enough support in the clinches, with Hawk Laura Stone particularly strong in the stoppages.

The game was later revealed to be Bombers coach Natalie Wood’s second-last in charge, with AFL.com.au revealing her contract will not be renewed.

Blues overpower Giants to keep top-four hopes alive

CARLTON has weathered an almighty scare from Greater Western Sydney, winning by 15 points amid a downpour on Sunday evening.

A day of heavy rain in Melbourne continued at Ikon Park, contributing to the miserly 5.8 (38) to 3.5 (23) result on a slippery deck.

05:11

In a game of momentum shifts, the Giants kicked the first two goals of the game before Carlton scored the next three in the first half. The arm-wrestle continued before the Blues kicked away in the final term.

Recruit Claudia Whitfort scored two goals to sit alongside her 24 possessions, four tackles and four clearances, while the ever-impressive Erone Fitzpatrick continued her strong season after re-signing this week to 2030 (27, including six intercepts).
