BRISBANE has completed its final training session on home soil unscathed before heading to enemy territory for Saturday's Grand Final against Adelaide.

In front of a tight band of hearty supporters at the Gabba on Wednesday night, the Lions completed a 90-minute session before flying interstate on Thursday afternoon.

The only small scare came when captain Emma Zielke was left on the wrong end of a head clash, but after making sure there was no damage to her nose, the veteran shook it off and completed the session.

Brisbane looked sharp during its 40-minute match simulation, which was played on a slightly reduced field size, mixing the teams so they were evenly split.

Dakota Davidson was her usual lively self in the front half, full of voice and energy, as was dynamic Courtney Hodder.

As the Lions prepared for what they hope will be third time lucky after Grand Final losses in 2017 and 2018, there was plenty of premiership success to surround them.

Triple premiership club heroes Clark Keating, who is an assistant coach to Craig Starcevich, and Norm Smith medallist Simon Black, who assists one night a week, were on hand to offer some final thoughts.

Youngsters Nat Grider and Tahlia Hickie had an interesting night, needed for a photo shoot in cocktail attire to promote the W Awards, only to change into boots and guernsey minutes later for their training session.

Davidson made one young fan's night, signing a pair of boots and handing them over as she left the training track.

Brisbane will spend two nights in Adelaide prior to the match – the same routine they used before upsetting the Dockers at Fremantle Oval in round five.
