SCANS have revealed Western Bulldogs star forward Izzy Huntington has ruptured an ACL for a third time.
Huntington, 22, ruptured her left ACL as a junior, before injuring the right in round two, 2018.
The right graft has now been torn in the Dogs' loss to Melbourne, with Huntington also sustaining damage to her lateral meniscus.
It's a bitter blow for both the former No.1 pick and the Bulldogs, with the top contested mark in the competition effectively irreplaceable.
"We are absolutely devastated for Izzy – she is a much-loved figure at the Kennel, and everyone is well aware of her injury battles, so we’re just heartbroken for her," Bulldogs general manager of women's footy Debbie Lee said.
"She worked extremely hard this preseason to get herself ready for this year, so it’s a real shame her 2022 campaign has been cut short.

"Izzy is a true professional though, and having been through this twice before, she will know what’s required of her.
"As a club, we’ll continue to support her and the family in any way we can."
Huntington dominated the competition in her first fully fit season of 2020, taking out the NAB AFLW Rising Star and named an All-Australian defender, before impressing in her native forward role last year.
