FREMANTLE captain Hayley Miller has surged ahead of North Melbourne's Ash Riddell to take the lead in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award, while four players received 10 votes for their efforts in round six.

Miller and Riddell entered the round on equal footing, but Miller picked up a near-perfect nine votes for her performance against Carlton and now has a six-vote buffer on Riddell.

Gold Coast's Alison Drennan was among the quartet to receive maximum votes, with her 30-disposal game against the Cats one of the most impressive individual performances so far this AFLW season.

Melbourne's Tyla Hanks picked right up where she left off, receiving 10 votes for her performance against Greater Western Sydney in her first game back after missing a week through the League's health and safety protocols.

The AFL Coaches Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year is an award voted by the AFLW senior coaches on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort to an individual player in a season.
