“It’s also a time to consider the work we still need to do and how to achieve it if we are to do better and be more inclusive as a code and community, and our role in creating a more equitable and safe space for women at all levels of the game.”

Acting AFL Executive General Manager People Lisa Lawry acknowledged the value of women at all levels of the game.

“The AFL and the entire sporting industry has benefited from having female leadership and experience at all levels and roles in the game - from administrators, club Presidents, coaches, umpires, players, and volunteers. The innovation and insight women bring is invaluable to any organisation ,and is paramount to future proofing our game for generations to come.”
