He is one of eight players cited by the Match Review Panel after its scrutiny of round two.

Waite can accept a reprimand, but Fremantle duo Nathan Fyfe and Zac Dawson and Geelong defender Taylor Hunt are all facing suspensions.

Of the other players booked, Sydney Swan Tom Derickx can accept a reprimand for his off-the-ball clash with Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury, while Adelaide's Richard Douglas and Greater Western Sydney's Callan Ward are facing fines for umpire contact.

Fyfe set to miss two weeks for rough conduct offence

Richmond's coaching staff is relieved after the match-day report laid against midfielder Dustin Martin for striking Carlton's Simon White was thrown out.

The MRP found that the force used by Martin was below that required to constitute a reportable offence.

The incident involving Waite took place during the third quarter of the clash against Richmond at the MCG.

Tigers forward Jake King were both on the ground when King pushed his leg back towards Waite, grazing his chest.

Waite reacted by holding his mouth, suggesting King's boot had hit him in the face.

The MRP booked Waite for misconduct (staging). As it is his first offence of that type, he was handed a simple reprimand with no carryover points attached.

King is facing a $900 fine for his part in the fracas.

Hunt has been booked for engaging in rough conduct against Brisbane Lions midfielder Daniel Rich during the third quarter of the Cats' 25-point win at the Gabba on Sunday.

The pair clashed heads when Hunt laid a solid shirtfront on Rich, and the star Lion had to leave the field under the blood rule, although he later returned.

Like Fyfe, the Cats backman was penalised under the AFL's new bumping rules, which state that players "will ordinarily be liable" if they elect to bump and a head clash results.

The incident was assessed as negligent, medium impact and high contact.

Hunt's initial penalty was a two-match suspension, but he can have it reduced to one game if he pleads guilty.

Derickx elbowed Pendlebury in the midriff in an off-the-ball incident late in the second quarter.

Pendlebury collapsed to the turf after the impact and later made a point of remonstrating with Derickx after the half-time siren.

The MRP classified the incident as reckless conduct, low impact and body contact.

Derickx's initial penalty was a one-match suspension, but he can escape with a reprimand by pleading guilty.
