COLLINGWOOD has officially promoted key forward Corey Gault to its senior list.

After football manager Neil Balme flagged the move at the weekend, the Magpies submitted the paperwork with the AFL on Wednesday.

The club was entitled to elevate a player to its senior list under the AFL's rules relating to nominating a rookie.

Gault edged out American teammate Mason Cox for the nomination after booting eight goals in three NAB Challenge matches.

The 23-year-old has played four games for Collingwood and is in his third-year on the Magpies' rookie list.
