DECORATED midfielder Courtney Gum has made a bid to resurrect her AFLW career, nominating for the South Australian portion of the NAB AFLW Draft despite retiring at the end of March.
Gum, 38, played for Greater Western Sydney in the 2018 and 2019 AFLW seasons, running out in all 14 possible games.
The 2018 season in particular was outstanding for Gum, winning the AFLPA Most Valuable Player and named All Australian.
Gum was of the stronger clearance players in the competition, the South Australian local knows how to find the ball and uses it well.
The draft will be held on 22 October, and any players who aren't picked are able to be selected as free agent signings by clubs outside of their original nomination pool.
Another former AFLW player to keep an eye out for is Adelaide premiership key defender Talia Radan, who has nominated for the West Australian draft pool.
Radan played 10 games across two seasons at the Crows before crossing to Melbourne in a complicated five-way trade ahead of the 2019 season.
The 31-year-old was recovering from a shoulder reconstruction during pre-season and didn't manage to break through for her debut in the red and the blue.
She has been playing for Hawthorn in the VFLW competition this winter.
