The Crows will celebrate Indigenous Round along with the rest of the competition this weekend, but will also carry recognition into its home game against Collingwood next week.

"I am a proud Maranunggu and Anmatjerre woman. Maranunggu is the Daly River region and Anmatjerre is the Ti Tree region, both in the Northern Territory," Ponter told Credit to the Girls podcast.

"Indigenous Round has always been a really important time for me and my family, recognising and celebrating our culture is something I've always loved being a part of.

"But it's not only the celebrating, it's the educating, it's the girls learning and asking questions. We're continuing to have those hard conversations even beyond Indigenous Round, we're starting to have them now, which is great."
