LANCE Franklin will make a decision on his football future early next week.

The star forward will have a keen focus on Saturday's Grand Final against Fremantle, but acknowledges D-Day is looming.

Franklin must make his mind up whether to stay at Hawthorn or take up a lucrative contract to join Greater Western Sydney.

"I've obviously been at the footy club for a long time and I love the Hawthorn supporters to bits," Franklin told AFL.com.au at the Grand Final parade on Friday.

"But I'll come to a decision (on his future) early next week and see what happens from there."

Franklin's future has been up in the air for much of this season and most of the speculation suggests he is likely to play for the Giants in 2014.
But Hawthorn captain Luke Hodge said his teammate has not been distracted by the impending decision.

"Not at all. Buddy has had the same response all year and I guess, as a club, so have we," Hodge said.

"It hasn't affected him. He's come in and played his role as we've wanted him to all year and we expect him to do exactly the same tomorrow."
