THE 2022 AFLW Finals Series will be the second time a top-six system will be used, following its debut last year.
Here's a refresher on how it works.
First week of finals – weekend of 19/20 March
The top two sides earn a week off and will host a preliminary final in week two.
The side that finished third will host the sixth-place side in a sudden-death, Qualifying Final A, while the fourth-place team will take on fifth in Qualifying Final B.
It'll be season over for the two losers.

Second week of finals – weekend of 26/27 March
The top two sides are now back in action, having earned hosting rights for their respective preliminary finals.
The minor premiers (team which finished first) will play the winner of fourth v fifth in Preliminary Final One, while the second-place side will take on the victor of third v sixth in Preliminary Final Two.
Third week of finals – weekend of 2/3 April
It's the big one, the Grand Final.
The winners of each preliminary final will play each other.
The hosting rights will be determined by which side finished higher on the ladder at the end of the home and away season.
While playing at your home ground is an advantage, it's not a guaranteed win – both Adelaide (2017) and Brisbane (2021) have won flags despite being the away side.
