RICHMOND, Carlton and Adelaide have turned to experience to bolster their ruck divisions, with Toby Nankervis, Matthew Kreuzer and Sam Jacobs recalled for a finals-shaping Sunday of football.

Nankervis and Kreuzer are back from injury layoffs and will go head-to-head at the MCG for the Tigers and Blues, respectively, with Ivan Soldo and Andrew Phillips axed.

Carlton has made four changes to the side which pushed flag fancy West Coast to four goals ahead of another massive test for David Teague's group against the premiership favourites.

Key defender Liam Jones is back following the passing of his mother for a job on Tom Lynch or Jack Riewoldt, while veteran Dale Thomas and talented tall Mitch McGovern also return.

Hugh Goddard, Matt Kennedy, last round's debutant Angus Schumacher and Phillips make way.

The Tigers regain young gun Sydney Stack but have resisted the temptation to name mature-age South Fremantle product Marlion Pickett for his first game, while Dan Butler is omitted.

Adelaide has called up veteran big man Jacobs for his first game since round two ahead of a massive challenge at West Coast's fortress.

Reilly O'Brien's run of 17-straight appearances ends in the Crows' only change following a pivotal victory over St Kilda, which kept them a game clear in eighth spot.

The Eagles are in a scrap to hold onto second and have made two changes, bringing back tagger Mark Hutchings and small forward Jamie Cripps.

Experienced wingman Chris Masten has been left out after a run of seven-straight games while young goalsneak Jarrod Cameron is the unlucky omission for Cripps.

Fremantle has opted for stability ahead of a must-win trip to Marvel Stadium against St Kilda, naming an unchanged line-up from the 22 who shocked ladder leaders Geelong.

Travis Colyer travelled with the team as an emergency, while Cam McCarthy has been overlooked again.

The Saints confirmed five changes, headlined by Jack Steven and Dan Hannebery, with Jack Newnes, Blake Acres and Ben Paton the other inclusions.

Key defender Nathan Brown, Daniel McKenzie and Matt Parker have been dropped, with Doulton Langlands and Jade Gresham missing through injury.
