Young gun Blake McGrath has won the final NAB Rising Star nomination in the AFL Sydney competition after just his fifth game for Pennant Hills.

Debuting against Campbelltown in Round 14, McGrath has gone from strength to strength, polling well among his club's best players throughout the last month.

The 208cm ruckman has a history in basketball and soccer before deciding to ply his trade in Australian Rules Football. The St Kilda Football Club noticed his talents and added the 18-year old to its list of NSW Scholarship holders. McGrath's Pennant Hills team mate Josh Duncan is also in this group along with Kane Murphy (St Ignatius College), Jackson Ferguson (Holroyd-Parramatta) and Khan Haretuku from Eastern who is also on St Kilda's Rookie List.

Pennant Hills finished the home & away season in second spot, four points behind UNSW/Eastern Subs and McGrath is expected to play an integral role of his club's post-season campaign which begins with Saturday's Qualifying Final against St George at Henson Park, Sydney from 2:30pm.

St Kilda Football Club congratulates Blake McGrath on being named the Round 18, Sydney AFL NAB Rising Star nominee!
