RICHMOND players have gone to an undisclosed location away from Punt Road to review Saturday night's dismal performance against Essendon.

The Tigers never looked in the game as they lost by 50 points in what is one of the club's marquee fixtures.

Off the back of a finals appearance in 2013, the Tigers are languishing in 13th spot with just three wins for the season – and no one at the club can explain what's happened.

"It was a very disappointing performance. Dreamtime's a big game, a big stage," chief executive Brendon Gale told AFL.com.au at Punt Road on Monday morning.

"We keep on keeping on, we review all aspects of our performance - daily, weekly.

"What we presented on Saturday night isn't good enough and we're hell bent on understanding why."

Gale insisted there was no increased pressure on coach Damien Hardwick's position.

"I wouldn't have thought so at all," he said.

"Damien is here for the long term and whilst he's responsible as senior coach it's a shared responsibility at this footy club and we'll work through this together."

Hardwick is contracted until the end of 2016.

The Tigers play North Melbourne on Sunday night at Etihad Stadium.
