The AFL wishes to advise Indigenous players from the Footy Means Business program will play in the Dreamtime at the G curtain-raiser, the Rio Tinto Cup, tomorrow, Saturday May 31.

The Rio Tinto Cup will be played between the Aaron Davey Squad v David Rodan squad and the match will commence at 3:30pm at the MCG.

Each year the AFL Rio Tinto Footy Means Business program provides 50 Indigenous men, aged 18 to 24-year-old, with exposure to elite AFL programs and training, along with leadership and networking opportunities in corporate environments.

Coinciding with Indigenous Round, the training camp has seen participants take part in intensive training, as well as a range of cultural, educational and community activities, all culminating in the Rio Tinto Cup.

The fifty participants for this year’s program have been selected from all around the country by AFL Talent Managers based on football ability, engagement with their communities and their potential to serve as a role model.

The Rio Tinto Cup will be televised by the Seven Network’s regional affiliate Southern Cross Television into the Darwin and Central markets at 10.30pm CST that evening. Radio coverage will be provided by the National Indigenous Radio Service into Darwin, Brisbane and regional Australia from 5pm EST on Saturday May 31. NITV will also rebroadcast the match from Monday June 2.
