PRACTICE matches are on the horizon as the rebel VFLW season draws nearer at a rate of knots.
With the season starting a month later this year, trial contests have also been pushed back, but the smell of leather is in the air with the first of the 2025 teams to start their preparations this week.
It all began with Tasmania's Senior Talent Academy facing off with 2024 semi finalist Port Melbourne in Launceston on Saturday.
VFLW wooden spooner Geelong will kick off its bid to climb back up the ladder when it takes on Collingwood in the opening contest at Deakin University on Wednesday night, with the clash set down for the Waurn Ponds venue at 7pm.
Tasmania's Senior Talent Academy will be back in action against rebel VFLW reigning premier North Melbourne, with the clash to take place on Saturday, March 22 as part of a double header. The men’s team will welcome Frankston to Hobart on the same day.
Carlton and Box Hill Hawks will also meet at La Trobe University that Saturday.
Five matches are now scheduled for March 29, with another five on April 5 after the latest additions to the fixture brings both Darebin and Sandringham into action.
Williamstown are set to welcome Port Melbourne to DSV Stadium on Sunday, April 6.
Continue below for the full practice match schedule. Additional matches will be added once details are confirmed.
