CARLTON cited poor form and the AFL's "experimental" fixturing as reasons for the club's $1.6 million loss in 2014.
The Blues finished in 13th spot on the AFL ladder after recording just seven wins and a draw this year.
Their average home crowd this season was 39,415, placing them sixth in the AFL behind Adelaide, Collingwood, Essendon, Port Adelaide and Richmond.
"The experimental fixture posed a significant challenge for Carlton in 2014, it impacted both our match day attendances and overall membership figure, especially in our family membership category," Blues president Mark LoGiudice said in a statement released during Thursday night's NAB AFL Draft.
"Couple that with a slower than normal start to our on-field performance and the effect is magnified.
"Regardless, we continued with our plan to repay another significant amount off our debt, and the club is now free of any historical AFL debt."
The Blues also announced that they had erased $1.1 million of historical debt and LoGuidice said the club was optimistic about 2015.
"Given our 2015 fixture and new stadium deals with both the MCG and Etihad Stadium we look forward to bringing Carlton people back to the football," LoGuidice said.
"We want to give our supporters the best opportunity to come to our games, and when they are there, the best experience and service possible."
