WEST Coast's weary premiership stars have boarded their flight to Perth where celebrations will continue long into the night.

The Eagles are due to land in Perth at about 1.50pm AWST.

The squad will then travel straight to Langley Park in East Perth, where they will be presented to local fans on stage at a public event.

Premiership coach Adam Simpson and his players were applauded by travelling supporters as they walked through Melbourne airport, then once again when they entered the plane.

Captain Shannon Hurn was responsible for the most important piece of carry-on baggage, boarding the flight with the 2018 premiership cup tucked under his wing.

"We'll celebrate it. Enjoy it, then get back to it," he said at the airport.

"Everyone's going pretty well.

"Everyone enjoyed it (last night). It's one of those things where you have to soak it up."

Hurn and sleep-deprived teammates, who had a chance to regain composure during a short stop at the airport lounge, happily stopped for photographs with fans while walking to their gate.

The Eagles defeated Collingwood by five points at the MCG on Saturday, when Dom Sheed kicked the match-winning goal with a tick under two minutes remaining in the match.

The Magpies booted the first five goals of the Grand Final before West Coast steadied.
