JEREMY McGovern has overcome a sore hip to play in the Grand Final, with West Coast and Collingwood naming unchanged line-ups ahead of Saturday's first bounce at 2.30pm.

McGovern has been in doubt all week after copping an accidental knee to the hip in the Eagles' preliminary final win over Melbourne at Optus Stadium last Saturday.

However, the Eagles selected the star key defender in their Grand Final team on Thursday night and his name remained in their 22 when the clubs submitted their final line-ups 90 minutes before the start of the game.

Fellow Eagle Luke Shuey (ankle) and Collingwood defender Jeremy Howe (ankle) had also been in some doubt after suffering injuries in their respective preliminary finals, but will both run out on Saturday.

Collingwood will be bidding to claim a record 16th premiership on Saturday, with a win set to draw it level with Essendon and Carlton.

West Coast is aiming for its fourth flag, which would take it past Brisbane for the most premierships won by teams that have joined the competition since 1987.

If the Eagles win, they will have also won more flags in that time than any other club bar Hawthorn (seven).
