RETURNING Magpie Dayne Beams has chosen the No.11 guernsey, paying tribute to delisted premiership teammate Jarryd Blair.
The other big news at the Holden Centre on the number front is that teenage sensation Jaidyn Stephenson has been awarded the No. 1 guernsey.
Beams, who spent the past four seasons with Brisbane, originally made No.17 his own in his first stint at Collingwood from 2009-2014, but that number has since been claimed by young midfielder Callum Brown.
CLUB LISTS COMPARED Oldest? Youngest? Most experienced?
The star midfielder will be a proud custodian of Blair's old number, given the pair were members of the 2010 premiership team and are close mates.
After Blair was delisted by the Pies, Beams posted a heartfelt message to the little man on Instagram.
As has become tradition at Collingwood, Stephenson was always going to have to change out of the No.35 guernsey, which is awarded to the club's top draft pick each year in homage to selfless team man Simon Prestigiacomo.
The No.35 will be worn next year by dashing defender Isaac Quaynor, the No.13 pick in this year's NAB AFL Draft.
Stephenson, who won this year's NAB AFL Rising Star award in a season in which he kicked 38 goals in 26 games, has now been awarded a number that was once reserved for Collingwood captains.
The No.1 guernsey was most recently worn by forward Alex Fasolo, who has since joined Carlton.
Meanwhile, ex-Bulldogs ruckman Jordan Roughead will wear No.23, the same number he donned at Whitten Oval, while father-son selection Will Kelly will take No.27, fellow draftee Atu Bosenavulagi has been given No.40, and Irish rookies Anton Tohill and Mark Keane will wear No.43 and No.47 respectively.
