PORT Adelaide has regained star forward Chad Wingard and recalled Sam Powell-Pepper and former Brisbane skipper Tom Rockliff as it loads up for Saturday evening's Showdown clash with Adelaide.

In other major selection news, Geelong has named Gary Ablett, Collingwood has brought back Daniel Wells for his first game of the season, Richmond has recalled Trent Cotchin and Greater Western Sydney has axed Jonathan Patton.

ALL THE TEAMS: Check 'em out

Power gun Wingard is back after a hamstring injury, while Powell-Pepper is in for his first senior game since the off-field scandal that engulfed the beginning of his season.

Defender Tom Clurey is also in, while Aidyn Johnson (groin), Dom Barry and Jasper Pittard have been dropped. Karl Amon, who was the victim of the tackle that saw Nic Naitanui suspended, has also been dropped.

The Crows will also be bolstered for the cross-town clash, with captain Taylor Walker returning, but they will be without Rory Sloane after the vice-captain suffered a new injury to his foot.

Youngster Myles Poholke is back for the Crows, who have lost Wayne Milera to injury and dropped first-round draft pick Darcy Fogarty.

Sydney will blood tall forward Tom McCartin for his first game on Friday night, with the brother of Saints forward Paddy to face Hawthorn at the MCG.

McCartin, who was drafted last year, is one of two inclusions for the Swans alongside Daniel Robinson. Robbie Fox and Harry Marsh have been left out.

FANTASY READY: All you need for your R8 team

The Hawks have also made two changes, dropping James Cousins and James Worpel for Will Langford and Ricky Henderson.

Greater Western Sydney has lost patience with Patton, dropping the key forward after his lacklustre performance last week against Geelong.

The former No.1 pick joins Dylan Buckley and Nick Shipley as the outs for the clash against West Coast, with important pair Jeremy Cameron and Rory Lobb returning. Isaac Cumming, a graduate of the Giants' academy, will make his debut.

Former Power midfielder Brendon Ah Chee is one of three inclusions for the Eagles, who have lose Naitanui to suspension and Luke Shuey and Jack Petruccelle to injury.

LATE-CHANGE KINGS: Who keeps you guessing?

Gold Coast co-captain Steven May is back for the Suns' clash with Melbourne in Brisbane on Saturday, alongside Aaron Hall and Jack Leslie.

Former Eagle Matt Rosa (shoulder) is among three changes, alongside Jesse Joyce (quad) and Max Spencer.

For the second time this year, Jayden Hunt has been omitted by the Dees, with Christian Salem returning.

Essendon faces a crunch game against Carlton on Saturday and will be without Joe Daniher (groin) and Andrew McGrath, who could miss two weeks with a calf injury.

But small forward Orazio Fantasia has been brought back after his groin injury and Shaun McKernan has been given his first senior game of the year in Daniher's absence.

The Blues have regained Charlie Curnow from a minor ankle injury, while former Cat Darcy Lang comes in for his first game at his new club. Jed Lamb is also back for Carlton, but they lose Levi Casboult (ribs) to injury while former Giants pair Andrew Phillips and Matt Kennedy have been axed.

St Kilda will blood midfielder Ed Phillips for his debut after a run of impressive form at VFL level, while Blake Acres returns for the clash against Fremantle at Optus Stadium.

They replace injured pair Ben Long (foot) and Paddy McCartin (head) after last week's loss to Melbourne.

Freo has turned to experienced pair Michael Johnson and Danyle Pearce to replace Nathan Wilson (back soreness) and Ethan Hughes, who has been left out.

Marcus Bontempelli has been named by the Bulldogs for their meeting with Brisbane on Saturday night, with Lukas Webb also recalled.

Tim English and Lin Jong have been dropped, leaving Tom Boyd to handle the ruck role solo against in-form Lions big man Stefan Martin. Brisbane has replaced Jacob Allison with Nick Robertson.

Richmond faces North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Sunday and will welcome back Cotchin after he missed last week's win over Fremantle with a knee injury, with premiership player Brandon Ellis also named in the extended squad.

Roos forward Jarrad Waite has been selected alongside Majak Daw, while former top-10 draft pick and ex-Giant Paul Ahern has been included in North's squad.

Scott Pendlebury has been named by Collingwood to take on Geelong at the MCG on Sunday despite his ankle injury last week.
The Pies have added Wells and Alex Fasolo in what would be the pair's first games this season, while youngsters Callum Brown and Josh Daicos are also in the extended squad.

Geelong has brought back a wealth of experience for the clash, with Harry Taylor, Zac Smith and Ablett part of the extended squad.
